Organize PDF Pages

Drag page thumbnails to reorder them, delete the pages you do not need, and rotate individual pages. Then download the rearranged PDF.

What does organizing a PDF involve?

Organizing a PDF means fixing the structure of a document rather than its content: putting the pages in the right order, taking out the ones that do not belong, and turning the pages that came in sideways. These three jobs come up constantly and, on their own, none of them requires an expensive PDF editor.

What makes them awkward is that a PDF gives you no easy way to see the whole document at once. Page ranges typed into a dialog box are guesswork, and it is hard to tell from page numbers alone which page is the duplicate scan or the blank separator sheet. Working visually removes the guessing entirely.

This organizer renders every page as a thumbnail so you can see the document laid out in front of you. Drag a page onto another to move it, click pages to select them, and rotate or delete them in one action. Nothing is committed until you download, so you can experiment freely and reset if you change your mind. Everything runs in your browser and no file is uploaded.

    How to organize PDF pages

    1. Upload your PDF: Drag your file into the drop area or click to browse. Every page is rendered as a thumbnail on your own device, so you can see the whole document at a glance.
    2. Reorder pages by dragging: Drag any page and drop it onto the position you want it to occupy. The remaining pages shuffle around it, and each card shows both its new position and the position it came from.
    3. Delete the pages you do not need: Hover a page and click the bin icon to remove it. Removed pages stay visible but greyed out so you can see what you took out, and the same button restores anything you delete by mistake.
    4. Rotate pages that came in sideways: Use the rotate icon on any page to turn it 90 degrees at a time. The thumbnail turns with it, so you can see the result immediately rather than finding out after you download.
    5. Work on several pages at once: Click pages to select them, then use the toolbar to rotate or delete the whole selection together. With nothing selected, the toolbar buttons apply to the entire document, which is the fast way to fix a scan that came in rotated throughout.
    6. Save and download: Click Save and Download to build the new PDF with your changes applied. Your original file is never modified, so you always keep a clean copy. Use Reset at any point to return to the document as it arrived.

    Deleting pages from a PDF

Removing pages is the most common reason people open a page organizer. Scanners insert blank pages when a sheet feeds through twice or a duplex setting is wrong. Reports arrive with cover sheets, fax confirmation pages or internal notes that should not go to a client. A signed contract often needs the instruction pages stripped before it is filed.

Deleting visually is safer than typing page numbers into a dialog, because you can see exactly what you are removing. It matters most when the numbers printed on the page do not match the PDF's own page numbering, which happens with almost any document that has a cover or roman-numbered front matter. Here the thumbnail is the source of truth, and deletion stays reversible until you download.

One thing worth knowing: removing a page removes it from the new file completely, including any text on it. It is not a redaction tool. If you need to hide information but keep the page, that is a different job.

Why scanned pages come out sideways

A PDF page carries a rotation flag that tells a reader how far to turn the page before displaying it. Scanners set this flag based on how the paper went through the feeder, so a stack containing a few landscape pages, or a document fed in the wrong way round, produces a file where some pages appear rotated and others do not.

Rotating here changes that flag rather than re-photographing the page, so the text stays exactly as sharp as it was and the file size does not change. The rotation is also saved into the document itself, which means it looks right for everyone who opens it. That is the important difference from turning a page in a PDF reader, where the change is usually just a temporary view setting that nobody else sees.

When to organize, split or merge

These three jobs overlap, and picking the right one saves a lot of time. Organizing is for when you want one document out at the end, with its pages in a different order, some pages gone, or some pages turned.

Splitting is for when you want several documents out: separating a scanned batch into individual invoices, or pulling one chapter into its own file. Merging is the reverse, combining several files into one.

A common workflow uses all three. Merge the scanned parts into a single file, organize it to drop the blank separator sheets and fix the rotated pages, then split the result into the individual documents you actually need.

    Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)

    Is this PDF organizer free?

Yes, completely free with no account, no watermark and no limit on the number of pages.

Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. The pages are rendered and rearranged entirely inside your browser, so your document never leaves your device.

Can I delete multiple pages at once?

Yes. Click each page you want to remove so it is selected, then press Delete selected in the toolbar. With nothing selected, that button applies to the whole document instead.

Can I undo a deleted page?

Yes. Deleted pages stay visible in the grid, greyed out and labelled Removed. Hover one and click the restore icon to bring it back. Nothing is final until you download, and Reset returns the whole document to how it arrived.

Does rotating a page reduce its quality?

No. Rotation changes the page's rotation flag rather than re-rendering the content, so text and images stay exactly as sharp as they were and the file size is unaffected.

Will my links and bookmarks survive?

Page content, including annotations attached to the pages you keep, is carried across. Document-level bookmarks that point at pages by position can be affected by heavy reordering, which is a limitation of how bookmarks reference pages rather than something specific to this tool.

How many pages can it handle?

There is no fixed limit, though very long documents take longer to render because each page is drawn as a thumbnail on your device. Page cards appear immediately and the thumbnails fill in as they are ready, so you can start working before rendering finishes.

Can I organize a password protected PDF?

Not while it is encrypted. Remove the password first with our Unlock PDF tool, organize the pages, then protect the file again if you need it encrypted.

What is the difference between this and splitting a PDF?

Organizing produces one document with its pages rearranged, removed or rotated. Splitting produces several separate documents from one file. If your goal is a single tidy file, organize it. If you need the pages to end up in different files, split it.
