What is a small text generator?
A small text generator shrinks your text into tiny letters you can copy and paste. It gives you three kinds of small text: ᵗⁱⁿʸ ˢᵘᵖᵉʳˢᶜʳⁱᵖᵗ letters that sit high on the line, ꜱᴍᴀʟʟ ᴄᴀᴘꜱ that look like capitals at lowercase height, and ₛᵤbₛcᵣᵢₚₜ letters that sit low.
None of these need a font setting. Each one is a separate Unicode character, originally added for things like footnotes, phonetics and chemical formulas, so the small look survives when you paste it into Instagram, TikTok, Discord, a text message or a document.
Everything happens in your browser as you type. Nothing is uploaded or stored.
How to make small text
- Type your text: Enter the words you want to shrink. The small styles update as you type.
- Choose a size and style: Tiny Text is the smallest and floats above the line. Small Caps is easier to read. Subscript sits below the line.
- Click to copy: Click a style to copy it to your clipboard. The preview shows how it looks on a profile.
- Paste it where you need it: Paste your small text into a bio, caption, comment, message or name field.
Tiny text, small caps and subscript compared
Tiny Text uses superscript letters, the raised characters normally used for footnotes and exponents like x². It is the smallest option and looks cute in bios and captions, but long sentences can be hard to read.
Small Caps uses capital letter shapes at lowercase height. It is the most readable small style and looks neat for taglines, job titles and section labels.
Subscript drops letters below the line, like the 2 in H₂O. It is mostly used for fun or for writing formulas.
Why a few small letters look out of place
Unicode does not have a small version of every letter. There is no superscript Q, so the generator uses the closest match, and subscript is missing b, c, d, f, g, q, w, y and z entirely, so those letters stay normal size. Small caps has no true small X either. If a word looks uneven, try a different small style or rephrase with letters that convert cleanly.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Is small text the same as a smaller font size?
No. Apps like Instagram do not let you change font size. Small text uses special Unicode characters that are drawn smaller, so it looks small even where you cannot change the size.
Why does my tiny text have some normal-sized letters?
Unicode does not include a small version of every letter. When a small version does not exist, the generator uses the closest match or leaves the letter as it is.
Does small text work on Instagram and TikTok?
Yes. It works in your name, bio, captions and comments on both apps. It will not work in usernames, which only accept plain letters, numbers and a few symbols.
Can I make small numbers?
Yes. Tiny Text turns numbers into superscript digits like ¹²³ and Subscript turns them into ₁₂₃.
Is the small text generator free?
